Calendar of Community Events

All community groups and 'not for profit' organisations throughout the Parish are welcome to submit information regarding their forthcoming events, and we will be pleased to include them on the list below free of charge.  We will also display any information notices. However, we cannot display notices of a commercial or political nature.

Shelley Gardening Group : 24 April at 7.30 pm at Shelley Methodist Hall

Shepley Spring Festival : 17 - 19 May
Kick off the 2019 Festival Season with the usual line up of festival favourites and tomorrow's folk stars, dancers, children's festival and more.  All at the new venue of Storthes Hall Park, less than 2 miles from Shepley.  Artists include Jack Rutter, Andy Cutting, Topette and many more.  There will also be a showing of "All My Life's Buried Here", a new film about the life of George Butterworth, English composer, folk song collector and country dancer, killed in 1916 at Pozieres during the Battle of the Somme, aged only 31.

Kirkburton Beer Festival & Village Fair : 24 & 25 May

Spring Fair at the Hub, Kirkburton : 25 May 10am to 4pm  Bacon butties from 10am to 1pm and Afternoon tea from 12 noon to 3pm

Kirkheaton Art Festival 25 - 27 May : Displays of Photography, Textiles, Pottery, Painting & Crafts

Lepton Gala : 27 May 12 noon to 4pm
The
Gala preparations are coming together nicely. 25 stall holders have already booked, there will be a bouncy castle and games for the children, Afternoon Teas, BBQ and a bar.  Further details to follow.
