Calendar of Community Events

All community groups and 'not for profit' organisations throughout the Parish are welcome to submit information regarding their forthcoming events, and we will be pleased to include them on the list below free of charge.  Please allow 7 days before the event, if possible.  We will also display any information notices. However, we cannot display notices of a commercial or political nature.

Murder Mystery 'Who Murdered the Headmaster' by Emley Players at Shelley Village Hall : Saturday 8 April at 7pm.  Tickets £20 including a 3-course meal, bar available. Tickets from Malcolm MacDonald on 01484 609032 or email: malcolmofshelley@gmail.com.  Funds raised for the Royal British Legion.

'Titanic Event' at Shelley Methodist Hall : Saturday 15 April

The Pierrot Players present 'The Inn Crowd'  at Shelley Village Hall at 7.30 pm each evening from 19 to 22 April

Kirklees Rural District Committee Meeting : Thursday 20 April at 7pm at Holmfirth Methodist Church, School Street, Holmfirth  HD9 7EQ. 
Parking is available on Crown Street car park.  The agenda will include a report from Police Inspector Mark Trueman, updates from the Community Safety Partnership.  There will also be feedback on projects supported by the Committee and new funding applications will be considered.  The full agenda will be published on 12 April on the Kirklees website.  

'By the People, For the People' : New Exhibition at the National Coal Mining Museum
2017 marks the 70th anniversary of the nationalisation of the coal industry in Britain.  To mark this important and historic event, the National Coal Mining Museum will be launching a new special exhibition which opens on Monday 3 April and will run until 6 December. Deaf or Hard of Hearing? There's a new way to contact the Police.
