Hanging baskets cheer up our local areas
It's lovely to see the hanging baskets gracing our lamp posts again. 94 baskets are now adding welcome colour in most of our villages.
The Parish Council funded the majority of the baskets from the precept (council tax), but also received grants totalling £1,740 from Kirklees, which has helped to cover the costs.
Shelley Over 60's and Yetton Together also provided baskets in Shelley and Kirkheaton, making the display even more impressive. We are grateful to all of those organisations for their efforts on behalf of the community. The photo shows baskets in Far Bank in Shelley, which were organised by Shelley Conservation Group with the aid of a PC grant.
